Final training 10/28 @8:15 in Teacher’s Lounge. County wide program to read with children so students improve reading skills, especially for those who are six months behind their reading level.
HALLOWEEN
No costumes at NDA. Students may add orange and black accessories after Mass on Friday.
Pumpkin decorating contest 10/30 & 10/31. Students will vote for their favorite pumpkin by placing coins in a container placed in front of each pumpkin. Volunteers are needed to assist upper grade students with set up (9:30-11:30), monitor voting and clean up. Teresa Sorter and Lynn Murphy volunteered to help.
FEAST OF ST. NICHOLAS
Friday, 12/5 Students will place shoes outside classroom. A prayer card with a candy cane will be tucked in the shoes. Cost of prayer card is .60 cents. Guild will supply the card and a few more treats.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK-Jessica Firsching
Sunday, January 25-Friday, January 30th Annual national celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the country play in providing values- added education. Volunteers are needed to make this week special. Focus on family values (Grandparents’ Day), Mass and celebrate NDA’s spirit as students, teachers and staff. Please email Jennifer by the end of October if you would like to help and share your ideas.

OTHER NEEDS
A public relations coordinator is needed to contact the outside community (newspapers), when events are held at NDA or to voice out our wonderful students’ accomplishments. Mari Cox talked about needing a liaison between NDA and the outside community. Ellen Bryson is the present Public Relations person for NDA. Need to be informed of special activities happening in each classroom. In addition, there is also an opportunity for NDA and St. Therese of Carmel to work together so parishioners are informed of happenings at NDA.
Spirit wear for adults and t-shirts for students (with NDA logo). Look for this in future.

Dad’s Club will help at Bonsoir! The club’s new president is Joe Zamorano! We know he will do a wonderful job. Dad’s Club is asking for volunteers during traffic duty in the mornings. If you can help, please contact Joe Zamorano. NDA is in need of storage space on school grounds, out of view. The planning is just starting.
